Care Tips 101
The tips below are served to prolong the life of the delicate Accessory and will do no harm for most beads and findings as well.
Accessories are delicate just like our body, so take good care of them with the following tips:
- Keep the DRY accessory in airtight zip-lock bags to prevent oxidation.
- Clean the earring hook/stud with nail polish/makeup remover or simply mild soap with water before the first wear and after each wear, for hygiene purpose.
- Wipe necklaces & bracelets with a soft cloth after each wear to get rid of naturally produced body oils and any food spills.
- Do not clean your accessory with toothpaste, doing so may ruin the surfaces. Use silvery polish only as indicated.
- Avoid contact with liquids such as perfume and soap, so its best to spray on perfume before putting on the accessory.
- Avoid any tug/pull of the accessory, as it’s made of adjoining parts, it may go out-of-shape, sleeping with it is a big no-no.
- Avoid storing the accessory under direct sunlight. (Why? Imagine the damage the sun will do to your skin!)
- Of course… Some TLC will be nice.
(I know it’s quite a chore to keep to the above tips, just do what you can)
Like our body, we age, so Accessories do have a shelf-life, they age too. But with the above Care Tips, your “body” may prolong its life to eternity… Perhaps…
Please feel free to leave comments if you have ideas that work to extend the use of the accessory.
